Nifties Fifties Cartridge Project
Our son was having a 10th b-day party and we decided to do a cooking party for him. I thought how fun would it be to do a "quick" invitation with a cooking utensil and tags. Well, thank goodness my hubby was willing to help glue the hamburgers together and the shakes while I went shopping for the utensils. I wanted to use little metal wisks, but couldn't find those at the dollar store, so I ended using measuring spoons instead. I just love how these turned out and had a hard time parting with these invites!
Everyday Pop-up Cartridge Cards 3
Here's another pop-up card I made for a dog loving friend for her b-day. I ended up using the gypsy to make the second dog for the inside, then flipped and glued one on the other side. I'm not quite sure why I had to make it to fit and why there wasn't already layers on the cartridge for the inside pop-up part, but I was able to make one. I love this card and as usual, used the DCWV paper for the patterned part on the front.
Everyday Pop-up Cartridge Cards 2
Ok, so another card made with the ever intriguing cartridge. I keep thinking I have to figure these cuts out, how hard can they be??? Well, several folds, rips, and tear's later, I think I've got these things down pat. I used the gypsy to put the words inside the label to save on paper and layers. I always think they need something more and I do love the added piece of ribbon inside to look as if it were really sewing something. I originally wanted to say "you're SEW old!", but I changed my mine there. I mean she is 70, but I didn't want to offend!!! Just in case you're really looking closely, yes her name is Fonz. Her real name is Lavonne and somehow about 12 years ago, my hubby decided to nickname her Fonzy, which then got shortened to Fonz. Anyway, she's a hard working farm gal, so her grand kids think her nickname is hilarious!
Everyday Pop-up Cartridge Cards
I'm super glad I found the cheat sheet on the circle blog for the pop-up cartridge, but before I did, I made a couple of cards. I cut slits in the card to hide the tabs instead of glueing or taping them like you can do. I think the extra work with the exacto knife paid off with a seamless looking appearance. I did have to add a solid piece of cardstock on the back to cover the tabs, but it was the perfect place to then add my stamp (this card handmade by ME!). I just love this cartridge and I can see using it a ton in the future. Sometimes I'm so glad to be a provocraft dealer:)
Birthday Card
So...my six year old has a birthday party today for her little friend Brittney. I whipped this card up and let her decide where we should put the stickles. She's quite the crafter and I think she did great finishing up the card. I used the imagine and blast off for the patterns and my gypsy to put it all together. I love the gypsy to look up thinks like the cupcake, then pick which one I like for the application. I did, however, notice that there are far more options on the new cricut craft room and it's super easy to look at the larger image on the computer than on the gypsy screen. I can hardly wait for the CCR to go live so we can use it to cut! Off to get kids ready for baseball camp and get Emery ready for her party...

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge
Ok, so here's my number 2 project for the challenge. It was a "mom & me" challenge this time. I used the gypsy and my imagine machine. Several cuts are from different cartridges and I made the frame wider and longer to fit my picture. I used DCWV Mariposa paper stack for the background paper and the picture is from a studio sitting at Helmbrechts Photography here in Havre, MT. I still think it needs a little something more, but with 3 sick kiddos today with the flu, I ran out of time.
My First Circle Monthly Challenge!
Ok, so I just joined the cricut circle a week or two ago, but I figured what the heck, I'll try one of the challenges. So, having six kiddos and tons of leftover Easter stuff sitting around ready for the trash can, I decided to use the stuff that normally would have been thrown out. The Challenge was to recycle, reuse or repurpose three items in your creation. I ended up using believe it or not, the inside of the stuffing bag for the words. I know they're hard to see on the photo, but that's because they're very reflective! I originally wanted to use the tin foil off the turkey, but I knew that would tear more easily. The stuffing bag was very sturdy, easy to cut and I must say, looked great when done, but did not photograph well! I reused the easter basket that I normally would have let the kids play with until destroyed, then thrown away and also the bow and material. I guess you could even figure in the cards if you wanted to. I love to display them for inspiration, thus the three cricut cut quotes of "inspire", "imagine", and "dream". I also used a label cut which I squished down to size with the gypsy. The glitter of course was stickles that I just bought and was dying to try out. Now I need to buy the other bigillion colors! Ok, so I know my project is a bit underwhelming, but just wait there will be more and they'll get better I promise!!!
